Incredibly bright yellow in the glass and lushly ripe, with aromas of sultanas, vanilla, orange and jasmine. In the mouth it is excellently balanced between acidic mineral on the one hand, and fruit flavors on the other. The finish is long and clean with elements of lemon zest.
Each year, in making the Conundrum blend, we start with as many as sixty distinctive lots of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Viognier and Muscat. And each year—including this 16th bottling—I am pleased with the way these multiple layers come together in Conundrum’s signature flavor, while the natural variations of each new vintage lend their subtle shadings to the wine.
